Missing too much!! I LOVE James Patterson and these new "Book Shots" that he's writing are kinda cool. I like that it's something a little quicker to read and some even tie into a series which is nice if you're waiting months for the next book to come out. However, this particular book just didn't work for me. It could've been a really cool story had it been a full length book. I didn't mind that Lyndsey wasn't part of the story for once. It was a fun change to bring some of the other characters in more but I felt like there was waaaay too much missing to understand this story. It was too rushed and when it was over I just rolled my eyes at it. I'd love to say more but it'll ruin it for those that haven't read it so I'll leave it at that."BOOKSHOTS" ARE A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! The story was interesting. This was my first "Bookshot" and DEFINITELY MY LAST!! I own all of the Women's Murder Club audio books and loved every one of them. Dear Mr. Patterson: Please, please return to full length novels. These "Bookshots" are a huge waste of time and money.Fun Read albeit a bit silly This is not a seriously sophisticated tale, and it’s not a horrifying thriller. In fact, it is rather silly for the most part, but I enjoyed a James Patterson tale for a change. I found this one to be a fun read with just the right amount of mystery for a short story. It’s fast paced with fairly good character development. This is an easy read and a far better one than most of Mr. Patterson’s bookshots. I thought maybe he and Ms. Paetro were running out of ideas for the Women’s Murder Club, but maybe there is still hope.Members of the Women’s Murder Club are not playing second fiddle to homicide detective, Lindsay Boxer, this go around. They are playing major roles, and I rather like that. Lindsay is on vacation with husband Joe and daughter Julie.The story did have murder and suspense, twists and turns, but it also had a fair amount of “funny” which was just plain delightful for this reader. There is morgue havoc galore and Claire, the Chief Medical Examiner, is having almost more “fun” than she has ever had. She and her staff have one of those first time ever morgue experiences.The antics of members of the Women’s Murder Club provide some amusive recreational reading for a change. Cindy, senior crime reporter does some sleuthing to get her story, and finds herself in a tight spot without a lot of maneuverability. Yuki, the vivacious pint size assistant DA who claims to be a human lie -detector is excited about this unusual case and lends an ear and gives suggestions to help solve the tale/crime. Cindy’s fiancé, Inspector Rich Conklin also plays more than a cameo role.
